First Week in the New Digs
hey everybody... dave cedillo here... i'll be your blogging buddy 'til someone pulls the plug. it's 2:08 saturday morning, and i thought my eyes were tired an hour ago, but i'm still here. homer's re-opened after being closed last week. the work that has been done is amazing. i'll shoot a video next week and post it. i am in a band with chris mull called THE SUBS. we played surf, swing, and spy tunes earlier tonight (yesterday technically) to a decent crowd... probably another reason i'm not sleepy. ok, back to homer's and the new look. i work the afternoon shift and i've seen folks walk in this week and say "am i in the same place? is this homer's?" and they take it all in, the new bench booth where the sofa used to be, new tables and chairs, and ICE CREAM! there are other things to see, and if you come on a weekday in the afternoon, there is a good chance i'll see you and we can talk about it.

Charles David Smart
Charles David Smart has been playing regularly at Homer's for more than a few years now. He's one of the most versatile guitar players in the city. Every summer he hosts a camp for young aspiring guitarists, this year the KC Star posted a photo gallery online of him in action.

Summertime
I'm the most inconsistent blogger ever. I working on it ok!!!
Anyway, it's summer time.
Summer is the time to get out. Baseball games, swimming, lake weekends, mowing the yard, backyard grilling, lemonade, and the 4th of July are a few of the things I think of when I think about summer.
But around downtown Overland Park, one thing it means is the Farmers Market. We are extremely blessed at Homer's to be so close to the Farmers Market where local farmers sell fresh produce, flowers, and all kinds of homemade products. It's a great addition to the downtown OP community for a few months a year.
The Farmers Market is open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Come by Homer's, grab a latte, and head over and check out what they have.

Homer's Blend
Most specialty coffee comes from a single origin. If your coffee says Costan Rican, the origin of the bean is Costa Rica. For a long time, our brewed coffee has been all single origin (Costa Rican, Mexican, etc.). We recently went to our coffee roaster and asked him to develop a signature blend for us. Brian, our roaster, worked hard and came up with a great blend of a couple different origins of coffee. We've been serving it as "Homer's House Blend". I'd encourage you to come in a give it a try and see what you think. It's a unique blend you can't get any where else. We're extremely proud of our coffee products and hope you like them!
